Cortèges, an experimental form with an emancipatory message, was born from the meeting of artists in search of new visual and acoustic dynamics: it is a resolutely contemporary gesture, placed in dialogue with the modern art icon Edgard Varèse.

An exciting and original experiment, Cortèges aims to explore the emotional and political power of the confluence of dance, text, and music. Using an orchestra partly spatialized throughout the audience, the staging places an individualized singer-dancer opposite the multitude. In dialogue with this cutting-edge, present-day approach, questioning the power of norms, are opuses by the modern art icon Edgard Varèse.

The famous piece for solo flute Density 21.5 takes the instrument to new heights, literally bursting through the limits in terms of manners of playing, articulation, and dynamics. The sense of hearing something never heard before is even stronger in Amériques, a paroxysmal piece, despite a more mysterious central section, in which Varèse unleashes, with percussions bared, maximum tension, the sirens, and all the fire of the orchestra.
